This adaptation of Garcia and Stohl’s novel is to the point, but it lacks much of the lush descriptiveness of the original. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough pages in the graphic novel to allow for vibrant images to take the place of those prose passages, so readers who only pick up the comic will miss out on some elements. Jean’s illustrations do their admirable best, however. Readers will be pleased that Ethan, Lena, and their friends look like actual teenagers, with Lena’s gravity-defying hair signifying her otherworldly nature. The mental communication between Ethan and Lena shines through strongly and helps solidify their relationship despite the sometimes choppy abridgment of the story. Overall, a worthy purchase where the novel series is popular. Grades 8-12. --Snow Wildsmith

Kami Garcia is a teacher and reading specialist with an MA in education, and leads book groups for children and teenagers. Margaret Stohl has an MA in English and studied creative writing under poet George MacBeth at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. They both live in Los Angeles, California, with their families. Beautiful Creatures is their debut novel.

Wonderful-you won't want to leave....

Fast paced book with fleshed out characters and interesting story line. Enjoyed every page!

I've read all in the series and can tell you that this series is definitely special. You fall in love with the characters and the setting...a crash course in southern culture :) I'm truly on withdrawl from this series. I was sick of hunger games at the end but this series...I miss. Sigh. There are some "jumps" in some places but all loose ends are taken care of by the series conclusion. I took a day on each book-you won't want to put them down!!! FYI book 2 was probably the slowest-book 3 was probably my favorite.

Read the books FORGET the movie

delivery was super quick; and exactly as described. However, I "hate" that, of course, this set does not contain the DREAM DARK book the Beautiful Chaos paperback does. Oh well, I'll pick up what I need to know from the dear people that dont understand what a review is and give you the whole story. ha! In addition, forego the movie and wrap yourself in the books; its a well done, multi-layered story.( though the transitions could have been better. I fault having 2 writers and slackers at proofing.)

That price is ridiculous. Firstly it is customary to get a FREE copy of any publication your work is in. That tells you right away this is a scam, secondly the price....seriously, would you pay that much for a complilation of the works of Plath, Emerson, Frost, Dickinson, Shakespear, Whitman, or any of the other greats? Then why on earth would you pay that for a compilation of amatuer poets. You could collect all your poems and print and bind them yourself for less money.

Complicated, Hard Read, but Excellent Information

This is one challenging book to read! However, it is a great book, as long as you are patient with yourself.

After a few weeks of jumping from one chapter to another (almost randomly), I have been able to find a groove and the book is beginning to make sense. I still jump from chapter to chapter, but more "logically."

The photos with the swing plane pane are especially helpful. Even if the author seems to like a few items more than others, the book clearly lets you decide how to become a "golfing Dr. Frankenstein" by creating your own swing as long as you combine each component correctly. (Some parts/components do not fit all swings.)

Humor: I wonder if the model ever became a great golfer...

One more - If you are curious, visit a website with the same name and look for their videos. The video in which they are selling a laser guide is particularly good..., if you are having difficulty understanding some of the book's component. I call it The Infinite Target Line.
