A must have for people new to BDSM

I am so glad that I took the time to read this book before I began my journey into the BDSM world. I learned so many great things from it. The book is set up to make sure you get the most from it and gives clear and descriptive instructions on how to make the relationship work the best it can. Simple little things that I would not have thought of are explained with their uses and benefits very well illustrated. I would not have thought to have a contract or two different collars with one for training and one for the actual relationship.
The book covers every part of training necessary to ensure that your relationship is successful. I really enjoyed how well the need for trust and education was explained. It's not enough to just jump into a BDSM relationship. To be the best experience for you both, it is necessary to have a well thought out plan in place. Each of the different areas that you will find yourself in, are well documented and explained in each of the easy to read chapters. I am really looking forward to continuing my exploration of this exciting area now that I have read this book.

The training is broken down into sections based on the progression of your training ensuring success.

It is a good starter book. It is important to remember every couple is different. Every form of training is different. Take the ideas in the book as an outline. Not every Dom wants dick worship. Some Doms love the chanlenge of a Brat.

His research expertise can be summarized as 3S: Security, Signals, Sensors: (1) Security: This is about how to overcome different cyber attacks in a complex wireless or wired network. Recently he focuses on cyber-physical system security and medical security issues. (2) Signals: This mainly refers to intelligent signal processing, that is, using machine learning algorithms to process sensing signals in a smart way in order to extract patterns (i.e., pattern recognition). (3) Sensors: This includes micro-sensor design and wireless sensor networking issues.

Dr. Jiang Lu is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at University of Houston Clear Lake, Houston, Texas, USA. He obtained his Ph.D. degrees at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL, USA) in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received Bachelor of Science degree from Shanghai Maritime University in China and Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Florida. Dr. Lus research interests are in the areas of intelligent sensor systems, biomedical devices, tele-healthcare, wireless communication, signal/image processing, machine learning and embedded system designs.

Ting Zhang received the B.E. degree in computer engineering from Tianjing University, Tianjing, China in 2008, and the M.S. degree in computer science from University of Texas at Brownsville, Brownsville, TX in 2011. She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL. Promoting fun while learning English - what more could you ask?

Within hours of receiving this book, I already had almost half of the page corners turned down to try with my adult beginners - who love games and fluency activities that are fun (sometimes competitive) and promote learning (sometimes surreptitiously).

The target audience for each activity is clearly outlined, needed preparation noted, and directions for play are easy to follow. A value-added bonus is the downloadable appendix that includes some samples and blank forms for those who have purchased the book. Teacher pre-teaching suggestions and variations for different language levels are included. Great resource!

I have taught foreign languages and ESL for 20 years now and bought this book over a year ago for some fresh ideas. While at first I was a bit frustrated by the formatting/referencing (it just didn't seem as easy to find the activity I needed to teach the skill I wanted the students to learn/practice as other books I've used in the past), I eventually figured it out and have used this book as a resource for over a year now. The activities are fun and interesting and engage my learners. When recently I needed to download cards to go with an activity and had issues doing so, I emailed the author and she promptly responded warmly and effectively to my need. I was able to get the cards and do the activity with my students same day. I highly recommend Ms. Vernon's book and other resources she has available on her website as well.

If you loved the Spelunky game, then this is definitely an interesting book for you. Derek Yu is not only an amazing game designer, but a talented writer as well. I greatly enjoyed reading his thoughts on life, designing games, and working hard towards achieving your goals. It is very inspiring to see how he developed Spelunky throughout the years, and how he offered an enthralling experience for gamers who like challenging games. I have played many hours of Spelunky, and I think the book helped me to enjoy it even more!

An interesting, inside view of the history and development of one of the great platformer games in recent history. If you are interested in this kind of background game developer information, this book is an easy read and keeps you reading. There are other books in this series that give you a glimpse of other games and genres, and hopefully there are others that are just as good.

About the Author
At the impressionable age of 14, William “Bo” Rothwell crossed paths with a TRS-80 Micro Computer System (affectionately known as a “Trash 80”). Soon after, the adults responsible for Bo made the mistake of leaving him alone with the TSR-80. He immediately dismantled it and held his first computer class, showing his friends what made this “computer thing” work. Since this experience, Bo’s passion for understanding how computers work and sharing this knowledge with others has resulted in a rewarding career in IT training. His experience includes Linux, Unix, and programming languages such as Perl, Python, Tcl, and BASH.

Rothwell is the founder and lead instructor of One Course Source, an IT training organization. He is author of LPIC-2 Certification Guide, contributing author of CompTIA Linux+/LPIC-1 Cert Guide, and technical editor of Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE 7 Cert Guide.
